Symptom Data Challenge

Thank you for the important work you’ve all been doing to better understand the COVID-19 pandemic. I want to make sure you are award of the COVID-19 Symptom Data Challenge! (http://www.symptomchallenge.org/) The Challenge asks participants to develop a novel analytic approach that uses the CMU/UMD COVID-19 symptom survey data to enable earlier detection and improved situational awareness of the outbreak by public health authorities and the general public. The five semi-finalists win $5,000. Finalists will present their prototypes during an unveiling event later this year during which a first-place winner and runner up will be selected. The second prize winner wins $25,000, and the first prize winner receives $50,000! The Catalyst Health 2.0 COVID-19 Symptom Data Challenge is sponsored by Facebook (FB) Data for Good, hosted by the Duke-Margolis Center for Health Policy, and in partnership with the Delphi Group at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU), the Joint Program on Survey Methodology at the University of Maryland (UMD), and Resolve 2 Save Lives (an initiative of Vital Strategies).
