Does anyone have a COVID-19 dataset that has confirmed cases (and/or fatalities) for each gender and 5 year age group? The only such dataset I can find is for New South Wales.
Hi @EmreB, have you looked at the data coming in from Robert-Koch-Institut (“German CDC”)?
It features a gender attribute, but the age brackets are 0-4, 5-14, 15-34, 35-59, 60-79, 80+. If you need to attach geo-data, here’s a notebook with some GIS visualizations.
Thank you! I saw the dataset but the age brackets are too wide for the analysis I’m considering.
I’m not sure where you can get the data you need, but perhaps a good place to look would be the panels linked in this page:
You can find data (# cases and #deaths) for Spain, Italy, Korea, and China (Wuhan subset) in 10 year bins (e.g. 10-19, 70-79, etc…):
- Chinese data: Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CCDC): “The Novel Coronavirus Pneumonia Emergency Response Epidemiology Team. The Epidemiological Characteristics of an Outbreak of 2019 Novel Coronavirus Diseases (COVID-19)”; PMID: 32064853 – https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/32064853
- Italian data: Italian National Institute of Health (ISS; Istituto Superiore di Sanità): https://www.epicentro.iss.it/coronavirus/sars-cov-2-sorveglianza-dati
- Korean data: Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC): https://www.cdc.go.kr/board/board.es?mid=a30402000000&bid=0030
- Spanish data: Spanish Ministry of Health (Ministerio de Sanidad): https://www.mscbs.gob.es/profesionales/saludPublica/ccayes/alertasActual/nCov-China/situacionActual.htm
Thanks, this is great!
